Abstract

This work is a profound reflection on the monumental series of Wednesday Catecheses by Pope John Paul II. Titled “Vision Of Humanity: A Comprehensive Analysis of John Paul II's Wednesday Catechesis,” the primary goal of this writing is to elucidate and evaluate the comprehensive vision of human essence presented in these teachings. In the backdrop of this work, we are guided by the acknowledgment that the mystery of human existence is an issue that has captivated the attention of humanity throughout the ages. Despite philosophical and scientific inquiries attempting to unravel this mystery, the human essence remains an enigma that is yet to be fully uncovered and is open for exploration by science and philosophy. This writing also underscores the importance of maintaining a balance between the natural and transcendental dimensions in understanding human existence, particularly in the context of the debate with modernity. Using an analytical approach, this work delineates and evaluates Pope John Paul II's views on the human essence, with a focus on the integral nature of the body and soul. Furthermore, it explores the significance of this integral vision in addressing contemporary societal issues, including those related to family, sexuality, and bioethics. The author believes that a profound understanding of the work of Pope John Paul II's Catecheses will provide a valuable contribution to enriching and expanding theological and anthropological perspectives, as well as laying a firm foundation for the development of a society iv based on holistic values and a balance between the physical and spiritual dimensions of humanity.
