Abstract
The Jubilee Year 2025, themed Pilgrims of Hope, presents a significant opportunity for the Catholic Church to promote spiritual renewal and social transformation. In the context of global crises such as economic inequality, armed conflicts, and increasing social polarization, this research explores the social dimension of the Jubilee Year and its potential role in fostering solidarity and hope. The study aims to analyze how the values of the Jubilee (rooted in biblical traditions and Catholic social teachings) can be implemented to address contemporary societal challenges. Employing a qualitative research methodology, this study integrates theological, sociological, and political perspectives through literature review. The findings indicate that the Jubilee Year can catalyze social transformation when its core principles (justice, reconciliation, and compassion) are actively translated into practical initiatives, including advocacy for economic justice, humanitarian efforts for marginalized communities, and interfaith dialogue. Furthermore, the research highlights the role of the Church in mobilizing faith-based communities to engage in constructive social action. The study concludes that the Jubilee Year 2025 holds the potential to revitalize not only personal faith but also collective efforts towards a more just and fraternal world. It is recommended that Church leaders and policymakers develop concrete programs to implement the Jubilee’s social visions, ensuring its impact extends beyond spiritual celebrations to meaningful societal change.
