Abstract
Migration is one of the most visible realities in today’s world, and it also shapes the life of the Church. Migrants and sojourners experience not only economic and social challenges but also cultural and spiritual struggles. In this context, the Church is called to live out her identity as Ecclesia Peregrinans (the pilgrim People of God) walking together with her members in hope. The purpose of this study is to explore how the Church can embody a “migrant face” and become a sacrament of hope for those who are in transition and uncertainty. The research employs a qualitative method through library study, focusing on the Bible, Church documents such as Lumen Gentium, Exsul Familia, and Erga Migrantes Caritas Christi, papal messages, as well as scholarly books and journal articles. The data were analyzed thematically under four main categories: pilgrimage, theology of migration, pastoral dimensions, and the Church as a source of hope. The study finds that migration is not only a social phenomenon but also a theological space where faith is deepened and solidarity is practiced. The Church, by offering pastoral care, liturgical accompaniment, and advocacy for justice, becomes a sign of God’s love that transcends cultural and national borders. The conclusion affirms that the Church must remain a welcoming home for all, and especially for migrants and sojourners, by sowing hope that sustains them in their earthly journey and directs them toward the fullness of life in God.
