Abstract
Our Mother Earth is in danger now. The ecological crisis happened at a higher level. All people in every nation should have a communal movement to respond to this crucial problem. One of the problems that needs intensive attention is the climate crisis. Every person should have the awareness to do everything that is ecologically just because what we face now is not just climate change, but the climate crisis. As part of the global social order, the Church has taken steps to respond to the climate crisis. Last year, Pope Francis released Laudate Deum, an apostolic exhortation to all people of goodwill on the climate crisis. Pope highlights that the climate crisis is our common problem and is intimately related to the dignity of our everyday life. The purpose of this scientific paper is to describe the urgency of climate crisis management according to Pope’s exhortation on Laudate Deum. The method used in this paper is the literarure study method. The author uses various sources as references for analysis and finds that the Church has done various kinds of pastoral works that support global handling efforts on the climate crisis. Its scope includes pastoral works on education, social involvement, Interfaith and interreligious collaboration, Church documents, and support for vulnerable communities. The Church continue to strive the spread of understanding about integral ecology. This step should be taken because the handling efforts on climate crisis is really urgent now.
