Abstract
Human Dignity is not a new concept, but as will be indicated below it is one of the most crucially important concepts at this moment. It has been universally adopted and expressed under the banner of human rights in the constitutions of modern nations. Human dignity has emerged as a key ethical concept that provides the basis for social living in amulticultural society. This article will explore the history of the concept of human dignity and the relevance of Kant's concept of human dignity for maintaining peace and justice in a multicultural society
