Abstract
This paper aims to discuss and examine the theory of Jurgen Habermas's communication actions as an effort to counteract the radical ideology of Islamism that is rife and taking place in Indonesia. The birth of the radical ideology of Islamism that occurred in Indonesia was caused by the lack of public awareness and morality of the urgency of respect for religious plurality owned by Indonesia actually did not become a separatist element that separated the unity of the Indonesian nation. Radical Islamism is a modern ideology that seeks to base the administration of politics and the state on undeniable divine absolute truth. One of the preventive efforts to respond to conflicts that occur in Indonesia is to conduct religious dialogue. Jürgen Habermas in the theory of communication actions says that the dimension of communication as human praxis to build interreligious dialogue. Interfaith dialogue seeks a meeting point of "truth" where the truth of each religion is not defeated, its statements and opinions do not contradict (conform) with religious norms that are believed to be universal and expressed honestly, authentically, where participants have the same opportunity to express their feelings and truth so that mutual interaction and understanding occur, or a consensus is reached free from radical domination.
