Abstract
Islamic radicalism groups in Indonesia often perform intolerant actions that are very disturbing to religious minorities, especially Christians. Many media reported from several points of action of this radical group deliberately doing destructive actions as a form of transparent rejection of religious minorities. They create an atmosphere of demonstration to disperse congregations in houses of worship, burn churches, restrict religious practice and persecute minorities. This phenomenon is a desecration of the diversity of the Indonesian State, which upholds the value of unity by tolerating diversity. This radical group spreads a new threat by closing itself to criticism and is very rigid with various dialogs. Everything that is done is purely the result of the radical group's interpretation, which is claimed to have true and absolute knowledge. This paper tries to elaborate an open society model according to Karl Raimund Popper. This Jewish-blooded philosopher offers an open attitude in the authenticity of theories that are ready to be falsified, so that they always walk in the corridor of discussion and are wise in responding to any mistakes. This open society model for the author is very suitable for Indonesia's identity as a democratic country which at the same time instills an attitude of solidarity and tolerance towards religious plarity.
