Abstract
The focus of the study of this article is (1) Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis in building brotherhood and friendship in the Encyclical on religious autonomy and (2) reading the position of the Catholic Church in dialogue with Muslims in Indonesia based on the values in the Fratelli Tutti Encyclical The study of these two points is the result of a qualitative study of several literatures. The findings of this study are that Pope Francis' encyclical Fratelli Tutti is able to contribute to the realisation of inter-religious life based on the spirit of brotherhood and friendship. This encyclical helps the Catholic Church in Indonesia to realise its position as a brother and friend in its efforts to dialogue with Muslims as well as other religious communities. Finally, the study concludes that the leaders and people of the Catholic Church have a very strategic obligation and duty to always instil the spirit of brotherhood and friendship in their daily lives and see other religious communities in Indonesia as brothers and friends in order to build a common home on a solid foundation.
