Abstract

his paper aims to present that sorcery and witchcraft are still widely practiced by people in Flores Island, Indonesia. Its practice is still one of the thorniest problems that injure social life of people whether living in a village or in towns. The sorcerers and witches who are caught red-handed doing sorcery practice have been severe�ly tortured and even publically killed by the villagers at their ances�tral homes after a long indictment and prosecution according to their customary laws, yet it seems these means still cannot stop the sorcery and witchcraft practices. Secondly, this paper aims to pre�sent that sorcery and witchcraft practices do exist and their exist�ence can be observed by various means including scientifically by a multimeter. The sorcery media emanate some kind of toxins be�lieved to cause harm to their victims and the toxins can be neutral�ized only by sprinkling them with sacramental holy water.
